Alison was born and raised in Vermont. She has three children and is currently going back to school to get a degree in Human Services while also working full-time at Porter Hospital. In her spare time Alison enjoys kayaking, hiking, cooking and spending time with family!
Fred Putnam - Group Fitness Instructor

Fred is a Group Fitness Instructor, a Personal Trainer certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America and a certified Silver Sneakers instructor. Fred is also a Certified Safety Specialist with training in many occupational safety subjects including ergonomics and musculoskeletal disorders from Keene State College, NH. Fred emphasizes exercise to facilitate real-life activities and especially likes to help class participants build self esteem and confidence by regularly pointing outtheir fitness progress and successes.

Lauren has lived in Middlebury her entire life and recently built a house in Cornwall with her husband Kirk and young son. Lauren is passionate about running, spinning, hiking, gardening, playing with her two dogs, Lou & Pandora and cuddling with her cat Frank.
Kristi Myers - Group Fitness Instructor

Kristi moved to Vermont in 2016. She has a degree in Exercise Science and is a Physical Therapist Assistant at Wells Physical Therapy. She enjoys lifting weights and exploring many other forms of fitness, and has been personal training and teaching group exercise for 10 years. Currently she is certified in Zumba Fitness, Strong by Zumba, and Raised Barre. Kristi resides in Middlebury with her husband, Dave, and 9 month old son, Jackson.
Ashley Laduke- Group Fitness Instructor
A native New Yorker, Ashley moved to Vermont in 2014. A graduate of the Culinary Instiute of America in 2010, she is currently employed as the Head Pastry Chef of Middlebury College, while pursuing her Bachelors Degree from Colorado State University - Global Campus. At Middlebury Fitness, Ashley teaches spin and is a certified Les Mills Body Pump instructor. She lives at Sugarbush North in the Mad River Valley with her daughter, Leila, where she can be found skiing, biking, running and hiking.
Tamara Chase - Program Director

Tamara is an attorney and fitness instructor who has been leading group fitness in our community since 1984. Tamara currently instructs Spinning® , Body Pump® and Raisedbarre®. Tamara graduated from the University of Vermont and Northeastern University School of Law and takes great pleasure in sharing her love of fitness with all the wonderful people she has the pleasure of teaching.
Brye Beckwith - Group Fitness Instructor

Brye graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2001 with Bachelors Degree in Studio Art. Brye is a member turned instructor at Middlebury Fitness. She is a licensed Zumba ® instructor and has completed Zumba® Basics 1, Zumba® Basics 2, Zumba® Toning, and Zumba® Gold trainings.
Jerrod Rushton - Owner / President
Jerrod purchased Middlebury Fitness in 2012 and has over 22 years in fitness management. Jerrod graduated from the University of Maine - Presque Isle in 1997 and holds a B.S. degree in Recreation Management with a concentration in Business. Jerrod currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Addison County and lives in Cornwall with his wife Janice and two daughters. Hobbies include include cycling, hiking, running, kayaking, skiing & soccer.
Courtney Randall - Member Services
Courtney grew up in Leicester, VT and currently attends the University of New Hampshire. When not in school Courtney enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Emily has been at Midd Fit since 2008 and was born and raised in Vermont. She graduated from Hawaii Pacific University and holds a degree in Visual Communications with a minor in writing. Emily is a Certified Personal Trainer, TRX® and Group Fitness instructor and enjoys fishing, hunting, skiing, cooking, dogs and anything outside.
Kate Ripley - Assistant Manager

Kate joined the team in May of 2019 after being a member for several years. She is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Body Pump Instructor and holds a Degree in Business from Castleton State University. Kate has a real passion for health and fitness, a super friendly personality and enjoys interacting with members.
Lily Hunt - Group Fitness Instructor

Lily grew up in Middlebury and graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2005. After college Lily lived in San Francisco for 9 years where she became an avid fan of bar fitness classes and practiced The Bar Method for 6 years. Lily returned to Vermont to raise her children in her hometown. She teaches Raisedbarre®, works for Middlebury College and when she is not working or teaching Barre she enjoys running, hiking and spending time with her family.
Lynne Peck - Group Fitness Instructor
Lynne has been a group fitness instructor at Middlebury Fitness since inception in 1997. She teaches Spinning, Step and Strength classes and enjoys a variety of activities including water skiing, hiking and biking. Lynne and her husband Glen own and operate Peck Electric and have two children, Nathan and Lauren.
Kathleen moved to Middlebury from Saratoga Springs, NY where she instructed classes and fitness programs in the local YMCA system. Kathleen is an ACE certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Outside of the gym life, she works in the local school district, is a mother of three, loves to snowboard, and is studying to become a Health Coach.
Michele Butler - Certified Personal Trainer
Michele holds a B.S. degree from Springfield College and is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. Michele has experience in cardiac stress testing & cardiac rehab. Michele enjoys sport-specific programming, working on postural, flexibility, and post-rehab issues. In addition to personal training, Michele operates REV Fitness for Women, which is located within the Middlebury Fitness building. Michele plays competitive tennis, enjoys hiking, dabbles in snowboarding & gardening.

Janice Rushton - Member Services
Janice graduated in 1998 from the University of Maine- Presque Isle with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. In 2008 she became a Spinning Instructor and obtained a certificate in Swedish massage. Currently she teaches Spinning at Midd Fit and enjoys running, nordic skiing, photography and spending quality time with her husband Jerrod and their two beautiful daughters.
Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach (CSCS), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
Matt is currently an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Middlebury College. He excitedly brings his vast experience and knowledge back home after spending his post-high school years learning about sports, medicine, fitness, and how they all intertwine. Matt has experience working in the NFL, NCAA division 1 and 3 levels, as well as clinical outreach and high school settings. His unique background in both sports medicine and strength and conditioning will ensure each of his clients workout safely and address fitness deficits on the way to achieving their exercise goals.

Jeanette teaches Cardio Dance and Body Pump at Middlebury Fitness and takes great pride in encouraging members to maintain healthy, active lifestyles in a fun and energetic environment. Jeanette lives on Lake Dunmore and enjoys cycling and numerous other outdoor activities.
Kimberly Cobb - Group Fitness Instructor

Kimberly has been a life long fitness enthusiast. She hold a B.S. In psychology and education from Vanderbilt University. She is a certified AFFA Personal Trainer and group fitness instructor. Kimberly and her husband Wade have three children. You'll often see her exercising at MiddFit with one of her family members! In her free time she enjoys weight training, gardening, cooking and Alabama football.
Juliette Luini - Group Fitness Instructor

Juliette is from Los Angeles, California and is finishing up her final semester Middlebury College studying Comparative Literature. She is the president of the Middlebury College Yoga Club and received her certification from Yogaworks 200 Hour Teacher Training program. She is very excited to be sharing her yoga practice with the larger Middlebury community.
Karina Tarte - Member Services
Karina was born and raised in Vermont. She currently works full-time as a Veterinary Technician at a local animal hospital. When not working at the hospital or here at Midd Fit you will often find Karina working out in the gym!
Gail Isenberg - Group Fitness Instructor
Gail has been a fitness instructor at Middlebury Fitness for 10 years. She currently leads a Senior Fitness class. Gail has a BS in music education, MS in counseling and a Ph.D. in psychology. Interests include aviation, women's barbershop, learning Chinese, theater, biking and running. A mother of two adult sons, Gail just completed her first half-marathon.
Jacob Miner - Member Services
Jacob grew up in Brandon, VT and recently graduated from Otter Valley High School in 2018. During the school year, Jacob attends Boston University as a Pre-Med major. Away from work, Jacob enjoys spending time with family and friends and has participated in (and directed) many theatre performances in his time at OVHS.
Abigail Blum - Group Fitness Instructor

Abby graduated from Middlebury College in 2008 and currently works in the College's Office of Advancement. Upon moving back to Addison County in 2013, Abby started taking group fitness classes at Middlebury Fitness, and has been an enthusiastic participant ever since. In 2017, Abby became a certified RaisedBarre® instructor. When not working or teaching RaisedBarre, Abby can be found skiing and hiking in the Adirondack and Green Mountains.
Jessica Barakat - Group Fitness Instructor
Certified Yoga Instructor
Jess has been teaching yoga since 2007, and utilizes her knowledge of Ayurveda, Yin, Restorative and Gentle Hatha techniques to create a deeply sacred and healing practice. She is certified in Reiki and Vinyasa and works both privately and in studios. In her classes, movements are flowing and easy to grasp, but deeply healing and restorative.
Megan Sears - Member Services
Certified Body Pump® Instructor,Group Fitness Instructor
Megan is a native of Addison County and is a Certified Body Pump and Spinning instructor. Megan grew up in Cornwall, attended MUHS and graduated from UVM in 2011 with a degree in English and History. Megan is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys mostly every outdoor activity. Megan hopes to empower the members of Midd Fit through her effective coaching and motivation of her clients and members in group fitness classes and through her member services role.
